The Zelie Clutch

The Zelie Clutch is a stylish modern bag that can be made to be casual or formal. The unique 3D shaped front gives lots of room for all of your essentials, along with a flat back to make it comfortable to carry with or without the optional strap. A flap closure held with 2 magnetic snaps keeps your things securely inside.

Zelie offers several pockets for organization including a front zipper pocket for easy access to the essentials, an interior zipper pocket and two interior slip pockets. Pattern includes both a detachable shoulder strap and a wristlet strap option to allow for hands-free carrying. 

The pattern includes two sizes:

• A small size (10” wide and 7” tall) that is both the perfect clutch and/or oversized wristlet with plenty of room for the essentials, comfortable enough to carry handheld or with the wrist strap option.

• The large size (12” wide and 8 ½” tall) offers more room than an oversized clutch plus, with the optional shoulder strap, it can be carried like an everyday small crossbody bag.

Materials Required: 

FABRICS AND INTERFACINGS: 

1- Fat quarter or ¼ yard (½ yard for Large)44” wide Quilting Weight or Décor Weight Main Fabric

½ yard (⅔ yard for Large) 44” wide Quilting Weight Lining Fabric

⅔” yard (¾ yard for Large) Fusible Pellon SF 101 or a woven shaping interfacing –Light Interfacing

½ yard (½ yard for Large) Fusible Décor Bond -Pellon  808 Firm Stablizer- Heavy Interfacing

1-  12” x 18” piece (15” x 22” piece for Large) Fusible Fleece -TP 971F-Pellon Fleece Thermolam Plus –Stabilizer
ZIPPERS: 
1- 8” (9” for Large) or larger #3 Zipper- for Front Exterior Pocket
1- 7” (7” for Large) or larger #3 Zipper- for Interior Pocket

HARDWARE: 

2- 9/16” (¾” for Large) Magnetic Snaps
For optional Detachable Wrist Strap:
    1- ½” D-ring
    1- 1” Swivel Hook
For optional Detachable Shoulder Strap:
2- ½” D-rings
    2- ½” Swivel Hooks
1- ½” Slider

OTHER: 

Coordinating thread
Removable Fabric Marker (I recommend a Frixion gel pen as it can be removed by pressing with an iron)
Microtex (Sharp) Needle 80/12 –Recommended for topstitching through the thicker parts.
Fabric glue or a temporary bond fabric glue stick (optional).
